Requests for Correction

AgentSavvy seeks to work constructively with real estate agents.

Collaborative relationships as critical to our place in the ecosystem. The accuracy of information on the site is important to us and we take action to correct incorrect factual information when presented with independent evidence of inaccuracies.

Please contact us at the email below to provide a correction.

We sometimes receive requests to remove an agent profile entirely. As a rule we do not honor such requests. We evaluate these requests in the context of AgentSavvy’s mission to provide potential home buyers and sellers with independent, impartial information about real estate agents as critically important service providers.

One way to think about this is the “restaurant test.” If a member of the public is seeking to choose a restaurant, a site meant to inform that potential customer would be free to include the restaurant’s name, publicly available information from other online sources (e.g. health department records or menu prices), proprietary opinions on the restaurant’s quality and suitability for potential diners, and to offer to make a reservation at the restaurant. As diners, none of us strikes this as improper.

Analogous with this “restaurant test”, we are unable to entertain takedown requests for reasons such as:

  • Data Privacy – The standardized content on our profile pages consists of already public business information on real estate professionals, as well as analysis of that information from an independent perspective. (Any information that consumers or professionals directly submit to AgentSavvy comes with appropriate disclosure and control over how that data is used.)

  • Difference of Opinion – AgentSavvy’s analysis and grades are protected speech and constitute our opinions based on the information displayed in an agent’s profile. As noted above, we take action to correct factual inaccuracies in the underlying information when made aware. (Information in an agent’s profile comes with no warranty to the reader.)

  • Use of Likeness – As an information provider to the broader public, we have a right to engage in speech about providers of business services to the public, including mentioning names and other publicly available identifying information. We do not use any materials like logos or graphics without an appropriate license or permission. We make clear throughout the site that AgentSavvy is an independent entity and not an agent’s own site.
